2000+ fragments of pottery

The excavations at Boden have now recovered in excess of 2000 fragments of pottery and worked stones from the Iron Age, Romano-British and early Medieval periods (1500 BC – AD 700). Finds have been painstakingly recorded in a catalogue, features planned, sections drawn and soil samples taken for environmental analysis.

As the process of excavation continues the existing archive now requires specialist study, and funding is required in order to get this underway. Once material has been examined it will be possible to publish the results of this ground-breaking site.
